One of the most prominent and significant events in the MotoGP calendar s the Spain Grand Prix. Located near Jerez de la Frontera in Andalucía, the Circuito De Jerez - Angel Nieto is a renowned racing track. History of the Circuito De Jerez – Angel Nieto

Inaugurated in the year 1985, the Circuito De Jerez – Angel Nieto is laced with rich history. Jerez de la Frontera has always been the city with a strong motorsport tradition and so it was decided that a state-of-the-art circuit would be created in the locality. Before the Circuito De Jerez – Angel Nieto, known initially as the Circuito de Jerez and Circuito de Velocidad Jerez, was constructed Jerez hosted races on its streets, races that featured notable racers like Ricardo Tormo and Angel Nieto. After hosting its first motorcycle event in 1986, the circuit became a prominent one, and in the following year, 1987, it hosted its first MotoGP Grand Prix. In 2018, the circuit was renamed Circuito De Jerez – Angel Nieto to honor a famous Spanish motorcycle racing legend, Angel Nieto.
