The most prominent event in the MotoGP calendar, hosted at the historic Brno Circuit, is the Czech Republic Motorcycle Grand Prix. The race was held for the first time in 1965. At that time the Grand Prix was regarded as the Czechoslovak Motorcycle Grand Prix. After its debut, the race became a prominent and significant fixture in the world of motor racing. The Grand Prix saw several glorious victories among which are the victories of riders Max Biaggi, Giacomo Agostini, and Valentino Rossi. Each rider holds the record for 7 Czechoslovak motorcycle Grand Prix wins. Due to the pandemic and financial difficulty, the Grand Prix did not occur from 2021 to 2024, however, it is returning to the 2025 season of MotoGP and is scheduled for the weekend of July 18th to 20th.

The Automotodrom Brno Circuit also regarded as the Masaryk Circuit, and the Bruno Circuit is a glorious racetrack, renowned for its challenging layout. The racetrack is located near Brno in the Czech Republic and was established in 1930. When it was first constructed the circuit was referred to as the Masaryk Circuit, to honor the first president of Czechoslovakia, Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk. Over the years, the circuit went through several reconstructions and remuddling and came to be known as the Automotodrom Brno Circuit.
History of Automotodrom Brno Circuit
Inaugurated in 1930 under the name Masaryk Circuit, the circuit held its first race, the Masaryk Grand Prix which not only helped attract international competitors but also gained immense fame in European motorsports. Originally the circuit was a public road course, featuring a length of 29.1 km and winding through forests and villages. In the mid-1980s, to accommodate high-speed racing, the circuit was reconstructed and the modern Automotodrom Brno Circuit, a 5.403 km permanent road course, was inaugurated in 1987. Ever since the inauguration of the modern circuit, several notable championships including MotoGP, World Superbike, and several other motor racing events, held races there.
Automotodrom Brno Circuit Topography
Nestled near Bruno, the Automotodrom Brno Circuit is a challenging track known for its dynamic topography. Stretching to 5.403 km, the circuit features 14 corners, 6 left, and 8 right, that test the skill and speed of the riders. The track also features significant elevation changes with a maximum ascent of over 917 meters and a maximum descent of over 410 meters, adding to the complexity of the track. The track is not only for its challenging track but also for its scenic surroundings consisting of hills and forests.
