The competition for the 2025 Formula One World Championship is expected to be an intense one, startinh with the Australian Grand Prix. Enigmatic driver, Max Verstappen is still a leading contender with Red Bull Racing and is all set to secure yet another accomplishment to his remarkable career. Lewis Hamilton, a formidable favorite, on the other hand is on a quest for redemption with Ferrari by his side, At the same time, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is ready to race for the top position with his significantly enhanced car.
Leclerc is Expected to Win Two Races Before Hamilton Gets His First Victory in F1 2025 Season
The new pairing of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc at Ferrari is already creating quite the buzz and excitement. While Lewis Hamilton’s much-talked-about move to Ferrari has drawn significant spotlight to the driver, Leclerc’s current performance indicates he might have the better start at the 2025 Formula One World Championship. Charles Leclerc bif farewell to 2024 on a strong note, claiming victories in Monza, Austin, and Monaco. These wins by Leclerc boosted Ferrari’s chances in the constructors’ championship. His consistency has seen an uptick, and the 2024 Ferrari car, which performed well in race conditions, sets a solid groundwork for 2025. With his speed in qualifying, Leclerc is in a great position to turn pole positions into slid wins. On the other hand, Lewis Hamilton, despite his impressive qualifying history, has faced numerous challenges with one-lap speed since the introduction of the F1 2022 regulations. It may take him some time to adapt to Ferrari and its operations under Frédéric Vasseur. While he is likely to achieve victories, Leclerc’s current momentum gives him an advantage at the start of the season.
Verstappen Predicted to Leave Red Bull Racing
With new F1 regulations on the horizon. Signs of trouble for Red Bull Racing. Once cant help but think that Max Verstappen’s future appears uncertain. Whether he chooses to stay with Red Bull in 2026 or 2027, will be decided this season. This year could be pivotal for the four-time world champion to decide if his future is brighter with another team or with Red Bull. The upcoming rule changes are poised to shape the sport's direction. Honda's transition from Red Bull to Aston Martin, along with Red Bull's new engine deal with Ford, certainly adds to the unpredictability.
Max Verstappen, being the talent he is, is likely to catch the eye of from various teams. Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff is already openly expressing his desire to sign him. Although Verstappen is under contract until 2028, the driver has shown reluctance to make a long-term commitment to Red Bull. Being a promising driver, the fear of being tied to a struggling team that too during his prime is a valid concern indeed. If Red Bull continues to encounter difficulties in 2025 or if doubts about Ford's engines grow, one can only imagine how long Max will stay in the team. Competitors like Mercedes and Aston Martin can likely lure Verstappen to their side, if there is no improvement in the team.
Alonso will Likely Take Aston to the Podium
Aston Martin’s 2024 season was disappointing to say the least. Especially after Fernando Alonso’s impressive podium streak in 2023, the 2024 performance left many devasted. With attention shifting to the future, not to mention the state-of-the-art factory in Silverstone and Adrian Newey’s arrival, the short-term seems like a write-off. However, Alonso’s return to the podium in the year 2025 is a real possibility.
Why is this possible? Because it’s Alonso. Plus, team owner Lawrence Stroll won’t accept another season of loss in the midfield. Newey focuses on 2026. All the while Aston Martin’s new leadership, including ex-Mercedes engine chief Andy Cowell and former Ferrari engineer Enrico Cardile, brings hope for immediate improvements. The new factory is also starting to yield performance gains, which should become more evident this year.
Aston Martin may not leap to the front. However, with the lead pack closer than ever, any progress could open podium opportunities. And if there’s anyone who can open up those opportunities, it’s Alonso.
A Rookie will Claim Victory
No F1 driver has won in their rookie F1 season, except for Lewis Hamilton with McLaren in the year 2007. This highlights how rare and challenging this accomplishment is. It requires immense talent and a state-of-the-art car. However, 2025 could be the year in which history is rewritten.
Why is that? Because two rookie drivers have the potential to achieve it. First is Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Hamilton’s replacement at Mercedes. The young Italian driver arrives with huge expectations. Even though he had a shaky practice debut at Monza, Antonelli might become the next Hamilton. Moreover, Mercedes clearly believes in his raw pace. If their car is innovative enough, Antonelli’s talent could shine through that too with a breakthrough win.
Then there’s Red Bull’s Liam Lawson, who is technically a rookie with only 10 races under his belt. This year Lawson will be starting his full first F1 season. Though playing a supporting role to Verstappen, Lawson’s aggressive style and self-assured approach could help him claim victory over a circuit.
