History of Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, originally designed by Oscar Fernandez, was inaugurated in the year 1959. At that time, the circuit was named Autodromo Magdalena Mixhuca. The track was renamed Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez to honor famous Mexican drivers Ricardo Rodriquez and his brother Pedro Rodriquez. The circuit became a part of Formula One in 1963 and has hosted the event in various periods from 1963 to 1970, 1896 to 1992, and from 2015 to present. Over the years, the circuit has gone through several renovations, with the major one being in 2015 which was done under the supervision of Herman Tilke. During this renovation, several changes were made to the layout of the circuit along with the addition of a media center and a new paddock.
