History of the Hungaroring track

Located in Mogyorod near Budapest, the Hungaroring track is laced with a rich history that has made it a key circuit in the Formula One calendar. Designed by István Papp and Ferenc Gulácsi, the Hungaroring track had its groundbreaking on October 1st, 1985, and after just 8 months, it was officially opened on March 24th, 1986. The first race, the F1 Hungarian Grand Prix, was hosted by the track on August 10, 1986, and Nelson Piquet was the driver who conquered it.
