The Bahrain Internation Circuit, designed by Hermann Tilke, debuted in 2004 and features a perfect
blend of high-speed straights and technical corners that fascinate drivers and spectators alike.
Supporting multiple track layouts for hosting different racing events, a capacity of around 70,000,
and advanced night race lighting, the Bahrain Internal Circuit was the first venue in the Middle
East to host Formula 1.
History of the Bahrain International Grand Prix Circuit
In the year 2002, under the lead of German architect Hermann Tilke who is lauded for designing modern
Formula 1 Circuits, the construction of the Bahrain International Circuit began. After 16 months and
a whopping $150 million, the Bahrain International Circuit completed its construction in March 2004.
On 4th April 2004, the circuit was inaugurated with the first-ever Bahrain Grand Prix. This race was
not only historical for being the first ever F1 race held in the Middle East but also solidified
Bahrain's position in the international motorsport scene. Since that day, the circuit has gone on to
host numerous notable events beyond Formula 1 including the Bahrain GT Festival and FIA World
Endurance Championship.

Bahrain International Grand Prix Circuit Topography
The Bahrain International Circuit offers great racing, some awe-striking moments, and adrenaline-pumping scenarios, despite the fact that it is located near desert conditions, in the middle of sand dunes. Featuring multiple layouts, Outer Circuit, Grand Prix Circuit, Paddock Circuit, Endurance Circuit, and Oasis/Inner Circuit, the track is a challenging one. Apart from fighting the wind, enduring temperature fluctuations, and racing under floodlights, the drivers have to race through some highly daring points, including a tight, downhill, off-chamber Turn 10 left-hander, and a fast-run Turn 12.
